Dinner Theatre and Special Events
Our Goal is to stimulate interest in all forms of art by promoting schools, exhibitions, performances, and productions of artistic and cultural value to all area residents.
Under our umbrella we provide support to the following.
Corry Area Arts Council Auxiliary
Corry Community Theatre
C4U – Creativity For Youth
Throughout the year, we present:
Sunday in the Park
Thursdays in the Park
Family Nights at the Movies
Bus trips to Chautauqua Institution
The three ladies have ties to the Arts community. Kathy is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Corry Area Arts Council, Inc and is the adult adviser for the Creativity For Youth affiliate. Lisa is one of the area adults who assisted with the formulation of the C4Uth group and who participated in a number of the fund raisers. Wendy is the current Secretary and former President of the Corry Artists' Guild.
Laboring for the arts
The Corry Central Labor Council has donated $1,000 to the Corry Area Arts Council, whichwill use the funds to help finance the 44th Sunday in the Park set for Aug. 2 in city park.
Arts council President Jim Mehs said the money enables more activities to be held at thecelebration. “We plan to add a special children's play area complete with bounce houses, an animal petting zoo, a fish pond, a duck pond, tables on which to make T-shirts, candles and other crafts,” Mehs said. Jon Maker, right, president of the Corry Central Labor Council, presents a check to arts council board member Tim Joncas. Maker said the donation was made possible through the labor council’s small games of chance. “Last year, we gave about $87,000 back to the community,” Maker said.
