What do the discovery of oil, the railroad boom of the late 1800s, the creation of the Pennsylvania Game Commission, President William Taft getting struck near the eye with a beanshooter, the Nu-Bone Corset Company, the Climax logging locomotive and Mark Twain all have to do with Corry, Pennsylvania?

Find out by listening to the new ‘Audio Historic Walking Tour of Corry!’ This one-hour tour can be downloaded to your MP3 player by following the instructions below, so you can go out and walk the tour on your own, or you can just click on “LISTEN ON YOUR COMPUTER” below and listen to the tour from the convenience of your own computer! Another way to enjoy the tour is to visit either of two stores in downtown Corry, the Whistle Stop Antique Mall or Something Special, where either store can provide the tour for up to six people at a time on small MP3 recorders. Just slip on the ear-sets, head down to where the tour begins at the large mural near the railroad tracks on North Center Street, and let the one-hour tour self-guide you through our downtown and local history! And it’s all free, thanks to a grant from the Corry Community Foundation!

Something Special is located at 117 N. Center St., and is open Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can call them at 664-9444.
