Erie Plastics |
Diversity is the key to Corry's economic life. Unlike many areas, we do not rely on a single major employer or one major industry sector. There are approximately three dozen manufacturing companies located in Corry. They manufacture a wide variety of products, including a variety of springs, customized and standard fabricated metal products and steel forgings, turbine components for power generating and aerospace industries, electronic components, plastic products, flexible polyurethane foam for use in cushioning for furniture, electronic components and data closets and closures and cabinets, metal milling and turning, Metal Injection Molded (MIM) medical components and precision parts, piston rings and a variety of wood products.
A strong work ethic is fundamental to the abundant local workforce. There exists a variety of technical, skilled and unskilled labor here that is equally at home manufacturing wood products or contributing to the latest manufacturing technology processes.

Industrial Park |
|
The development of a 175 acre Industrial Park, with an Industrial Incubator and Multi-Use Facility as its "keystone," will allow Corry to continue its diversity by providing the space for industries starting-up, expanding or relocating from outside the area. We are a designated "Select Site" industrial park and have Keystone Opportunity Zone (KOZ) designation. Visit www.corryidc.org for more information.
Farming is also a major factor in Corry's economy. The accent is on the family farm, with modern dairy operations dotting virtually every country road in any direction. We also have thriving potato farms, poultry and beef cattle operations, hog farms and many truck farmers, featuring fresh produce and fruit in the area.
Retail
Shopping in Corry's friendly, relaxed atmosphere is quite enjoyable. Corryites have a choice of grocery stores and a considerable selection of other retail establishments selling clothing, furniture, gifts, antiques, quilting supplies, hardware and much more. The small town shop owners are proud of their specialized service where customers and shopkeepers deal on a one-to-one basis.
Corry's historic downtown is undergoing revitalization with new lighting and sidewalks. The turn-of-the-century buildings are being fixed up and painted. There is now a large 90' x 40' mural on North Center Street near the railroad tracks that bisects the downtown. It depicts Corry's history with the Climax Engine as the focal point and showcases two of Corry's present day assets - Mead Park and North Hills Public Golf Course.
New businesses are being developed along the Scenic Route 6 corridor on the north side of town and there is shopping at the Corry Plaza on Route 6.
