The Corry Community Development Corporation is the result of hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of community effort tied to the CorryVision community strategic planning process from 1997 to 1999. Many local organizations took part in the group forums that helped establish the priorities the CCDC uses as its blueprint for improvement, and a community survey and open town meetings gave all others the opportunity to bring their concerns and issues to the table. The CorryVision process was without a doubt the most exhaustive effort ever undertaken to determine what Corry area residents want and expect from their community. Early in 2000 a Board of Directors was formed, the incorporation papers were filed and an application was made for a tax exempt 501(c)(3) status. A part time executive director officially started in June 2000 and our tax free status was approved by the IRS in July 2000. We were given start-up money by The City of Corry and The Arlene H. Smith Charitable Foundation. We were located in donated office space at the Corry Hi-Ed building until December 30, 2003. At that time, because of an affiliation of CCDC with Corry Redevelopment Authority and Corry Area Industrial Development Corporation (CAIDC) our office was moved to the Corry Industrial Center to better work with other local agencies to service the Corry region. Since 2000, CCDC has been working to see that the goals of CorryVision become a reality. We are undertaking projects where no other implementation group exists. Some of these are:
