Outdoor recreation is very popular in Corry.  Many people enjoy camping at the many campgrounds nearby, such as Harecreek Campground, Hemlock Lakes and Leisure Lake to name a few.

In the center of town, the 3-acre
City Park offers a beautiful natural environment to take a relaxing break.  This park also provides a location for many community activities such as art displays, concerts, car shows and more.  Sunday in the Park and CorryFest activities are centered in City Park each year around the 4th of July weekend.

Mead Park offers 50 acres of woodlands, picnic areas, athletic fields, a skating rink in the winter, tennis courts, or just a place to take a quiet stroll through the woods.

Competitive sports are very popular here and are available to all age groups.  Both the Community Center and the YMCA provides recreational opportunities, with the YMCA's new swimming pool (2001) as one of the community's recreational jewels.  There are three golf courses in the area to challenge your skills - North Hills Municipal Golf Course, Corry Country Club and Carter Heights Golf Course. Little League, baseball and softball, Rec football and soccer are active during the year.

The Corry area has some of the state's finest hunting. In the fall and early winter, deer, turkey, grouse, rabbits, squirrel, pheasant, woodchuck and waterfowl are favored, and many travel miles to hunt here.

Fishing and boating are also favorite pastimes and there are many small streams nearby. Corry is home to one of Pennsylvania's oldest Fish Hatcheries, which stocks many nearby streams with rainbow trout and other fish.  Boating and swimming are within an easy driving distance.  To the north is Lake Erie and Presque Isle State Park.  To the east is Allegheny National Forest – over a half-million acres with biking trails, water sports, the incomparable Allegheny Reservoir and miles of high-quality trout streams. Just across the New York border is Chautauqua Lake, home to the world famous Chautauqua Institution.  Closer to home, Canadohta Lake and Findley Lake, New York offer fishing, boating, sailing and swimming in an active resort atmosphere.

During the winter months, downhill and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are enjoyed here. There are several different ski hills located nearby, including Peek'n Peak Ski Resort.

Rails to Trails projects are being developed in Erie County by the Northwest Pennsylvania Trail Association. The first trail called the Corry Junction Greenway Trail, will be from Corry to Clymer, New York.  Construction will start in 2007, but the trail is usable now. Check www.nwpatrail.org for more information. Route 6 has been designated as an east-west bicycling tour route (Y Route).
